SIP Container Settings

This section provides some tips for configuring the SIP container.

You can use the monitoring statistics generated by Communications Server to track the performance of the server. For details on SIP container monitoring, see SIP Service Statistics in Sun GlassFish Communications Server 2.0 Administration Guide.

Depending on these statistics, you can decide whether or not you need overload protection. For more on using overload protection, see Chapter 15, Overload Protection, in Sun GlassFish Communications Server 2.0 Administration Guide. Under normal load, it is recommended that you de-activate overload protection, for better performance.
