Perform the following steps to upgrade Sun Cluster module software on the Sun Management Center server machine, help-server machine, and console machine.
If you intend to upgrade the Sun Management Center software itself, do not perform this procedure. Instead, go to SPARC: How to Upgrade Sun Management Center Software to upgrade the Sun Management Center software and the Sun Cluster module.
Have available the Sun Cluster 2 of 2 CD-ROM for the SPARC platform or the path to the CD-ROM image.
As superuser, remove the existing Sun Cluster module packages from each machine.
Use the pkgrm(1M) command to remove all Sun Cluster module packages from all locations that are listed in the following table.
Location |
Module Package to Remove |
---|---|
Sun Management Center console machine |
SUNWscscn |
Sun Management Center server machine |
SUNWscssv |
Sun Management Center 3.0 help-server machine or Sun Management Center 3.5 server machine |
SUNWscshl |
# pkgrm module-package |
Sun Cluster module software on the cluster nodes was already upgraded during the cluster-framework upgrade.
As superuser, reinstall Sun Cluster module packages on each machine.
Insert the Sun Cluster 2 of 2 CD-ROM for the SPARC platform into the CD-ROM drive of the machine.
Change to the Solaris_sparc/Product/sun_cluster/Solaris_ver/Packages/ directory, where ver is 8 for Solaris 8, 9 for Solaris 9, or 10 for Solaris 10.
# cd Solaris_sparc/Product/sun_cluster/Solaris_ver/Packages/ |
Install the appropriate module packages, as listed in the following table.

Sun Management Center console machine |
SUNWscshl |
Sun Management Center server machine |
SUNWscssv |

Note that you install the help-server package SUNWscshl on both the console machine and the Sun Management Center 3.0 help-server machine or the Sun Management Center 3.5 server machine. Also, you do not upgrade to a new SUNWscscn package on the console machine.
# pkgadd -d . module-package |
Change to a directory that does not reside on the CD-ROM and eject the CD-ROM.
# eject cdrom |
