You can uninstall a web agent on a Solaris system using a graphical user interface (GUI) or using the command line. However, keep the following in mind:
Be sure to use the unconfig script to uninstall any web agent that was installed using the config script. The uninstallation program must be executed only after unconfiguring all the existing web agents using the command-line unconfig script.
If you want to uninstall the deployment container, make sure that you uninstall the web agent before you uninstall the deployment container.
To remove a web agent that was configured using the config script, use the script unconfig. The unconfig script is located in the following directory:
PolicyAgent-base/SUNWam/agents/proxy4/bin
The following is an example run of the unconfig script.
# ./unconfig WebProxy-base/web-proxy-instance-name Unconfiguring Proxy Server ... done. |
Represents the installation directory for Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0. The following is an example of a conceivable Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 installation directory:
/opt/SUNWproxy/
Represents the installation directory for Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0. The following is an example of a conceivable Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 installation directory:
proxy-server1
Therefore, the following is an example of a full path to the proxy server instance directory:
/opt/SUNWproxy/proxy-server1
To uninstall the web agent, you must run the uninstallation program.
In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:
# ./uninstall_agent_proxy4 |
Click Next on Welcome panel.
Click Uninstall Now on Ready to Uninstall panel.
Click Close after uninstallation is complete.
Restart the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.
To uninstall an agent, you must run the uninstallation program.
In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:
# ./uninstall_agent_proxy4 -nodisplay
The uninstallation program detects the agent that was previously installed using the setup program and displays the following text:
Ready to Uninstall 1. Uninstall Now 2. Start Over 3. Exit Uninstallation |
Enter 1 to uninstall the agent.
When prompted, What next? enter 1 to begin uninstallation.
The uninstallation program displays the following text:

To see log information, enter 1. To exit the uninstallation program, enter 2.
When the uninstallation is complete, restart the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.
