You can uninstall a web agent on a Linux system using a graphical user interface (GUI) or using the command line. If you used the config_linux script to install the agent, use the unconfig_linux script to uninstall the agent.
To remove a web agent that was installed in the command line using the config_linux script, use the script unconfig_linux. The unconfig_linux script is located in the following directory:
PolicyAgent-base/agents/proxy4/bin
The following is an example run of the unconfig_linux script.
# ./unconfig_linux WebProxy-base/web-proxy-instance-name Unconfiguring Proxy Server ... done. |
Represents the installation directory for Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0. The following is an example of a conceivable Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 installation directory:

Therefore, the following is an example of a full path to the proxy server instance directory:
/opt/SUNWproxy/proxy-server1
To uninstall a web agent, you must run the uninstallation program.
In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:
# ./uninstall_linux_agent_proxy4 |
Click Next on Welcome panel.
Click Uninstall Now.
Click Close after uninstallation is complete.
Restart the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.
To uninstall a web agent, you must run the uninstallation program.
In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:
# ./uninstall_linux_agent_proxy4 -nodisplay |
The uninstallation program displays the following text:
Ready to Uninstall 1. Uninstall Now 2. Start Over 3. Exit Uninstallation |
Enter 1 to remove the product.
When prompted, What next? enter 1 to begin uninstallation.

To see log information on the agent, enter 1. To exit the uninstallation program, enter 2.
Restart the Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4.0 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.
