Linux Systems: Agent Uninstallation for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1

You can uninstall a web agent on a Linux system using a graphical user interface (GUI) or using the command line. If you used the config_es6_linux script to install the agent, use the unconfig_es6_linux script to uninstall the agent.

Unconfiguring Agent for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 on Linux Systems

To remove a web agent that was installed in the command line using the config_es6_linux script, use the script unconfig_es6_linux. The unconfig_es6_linux script is located in the following directory:

PolicyAgent-base/agents/es6/bin

The following is an example run of the unconfig_es6_linux script.


# ./unconfig_es6_linux WebServer-base/https-web-server-instance-name
Unconfiguring webserver ...
done.
WebServer-base

Represents the installation directory for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1. The following is an example of a conceivable Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 installation directory:

/opt/SUNWwbsvr/
web-server-instance-name

Represents the FQDN of Sun Java System Web Server 6.1. The following is an example of a conceivable Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 instance name:

host2.eng.example.com

Therefore, the following is an example of a full path to the web server instance directory:

/opt/SUNWwbsvr/https-host2.eng.example.com

GUI Uninstallation of Agent for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 on Linux Systems

To uninstall a web agent, you must run the uninstallation program.

  1. In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:


    # ./uninstall_linux_agent_es6

  2. Click Next on Welcome panel.

  3. Click Uninstall Now.

  4. Click Close after uninstallation is complete.

  5. Restart the Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.

Command-Line Uninstallation of Agent for Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 on Linux Systems

To uninstall a web agent, you must run the uninstallation program.

  1. In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:


    # ./uninstall_linux_agent_es6 -nodisplay

    The uninstallation program displays the following text:

1. Uninstall Now
2. Start Over
3. Exit Uninstallation

  2. Enter 1 to remove the product.

  3. When prompted, What next? enter 1 to begin uninstallation.

    The uninstallation program displays the following text:

  4. To see log information on the agent, enter 1. To exit the uninstallation program, enter 2.

  5. Restart the Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.
