After you finish configuring the global cluster but before you put it into production, use the Sun Explorer utility to record baseline information about the cluster. This data can be used if there is a future need to troubleshoot the cluster.
Become superuser.
Run the explorer utility on each node in the cluster.
Use the appropriate command for your platform:
Server |

For more information, see the explorer(1M) man page in the /opt/SUNWexplo/man/man1m/ directory and Sun Explorer User’s Guide.
The explorer output file is saved in the /opt/SUNWexplo/output/ directory as explorer.hostid.hostname-date.tar.gz.
Save the files to a location that you can access if the entire cluster is down.
Send all explorer files by email to the Sun Explorer database alias for your geographic location.
This database makes your explorer output available to Sun technical support if the data is needed to help diagnose a technical problem with your cluster.
