For information about how to install software contained on the Sun Computer Systems Supplement CD and information about supported hardware, refer to Chapter 3, "Installing Software from the Sun Computer Systems Supplement CD".
The Solaris 7 software is delivered on two CDs:
Solaris 7 SPARC Platform Edition (called the Solaris CD throughout this manual)
Supplement for Solaris 7 Operating Environment for Sun Computer Systems (called the Supplement CD throughout this manual).
Before installing the Solaris 7 software, check Table P-1 for listings of manuals with information that may apply to your situation and Table P-2 for specific installation information.
All Solaris and SPARC documentation can be found on the Documentation CD. All Sun Sun hardware specific documentation can be found on the Supplement CD. Some co-packaged products contain documentation on their respective CDs.

Chapter 1, Installing Software From the Solaris CD supports the Solaris 7 Start Here card by providing additional installation instructions on how to install or upgrade the Solaris 7 software on specific Sun platforms and hardware options.
Chapter 2, Supported Sun Hardware is a list of supported Sun hardware.
Chapter 3, Installing Software from the Sun Computer Systems Supplement CD describes how to install the software for Sun platforms and hardware options, and value-added software provided to users of Sun hardware.
Chapter 4, Updating the Flash PROM on the Ultra 1, Ultra 2, Ultra 450, and Sun Enterprise 450 Systems describes the procedure for updating the flash PROMs for 64-bit operation on Ultra 1, Ultra 2, Ultra 450, and Sun Enterprise 450 systems.
Chapter 5, Updating the Flash PROM on the Sun Enterprise 3x00, 4x00, 5x00, and 6x00 Systems describes the procedure for updating the flash PROMs for 64-bit operation on Sun Enterprise 3x00, 4x00, 5x00, and 6x00 systems.
Chapter 6, Solaris 7 on the Sun Enterprise 10000 describes how to install Solaris 7 software on a Sun Enterprise 10000 Domain. It also describes how to upgrade Solaris on a host domain.
Chapter 7, Installing Solaris With the SPARCstorage Array describes how to install the Solaris 7 software either as a new installation or as an upgrade on systems where the SPARCstorage Array(TM)TM may be used as the boot device.
Chapter 8, Power Management on Sun Hardware describes the hardware and software requirements for running Power Management on Sun hardware.
