Installing AnswerBooks

To install the AnswerBook cluster or a particular AnswerBook, follow these steps:

1. Start CDE or OpenWindows.

2. Insert the Supplement CD nto your CD-ROM drive.

   The File Manager window is displayed.

3. Open a command window and become superuser using the su command and superuser password.

4. Enter the swmtool command at the # prompt:

   ---

   # /usr/sbin/swmtool
   

   ---

   The Admintool:Software window is displayed.

5. Select Add from the Edit Menu.

   The Admintool:Set Source Media window is displayed.

6. Type:

   ---

   # cd /cdrom/cdrom0/Product
   

   ---

   The Admintool:Add Software window is displayed.

7. In the Admintool:Add Software window, select SMCC AnswerBooks Cluster 1.0.

8. Click the Customize option.

   The Admintool:Customize Installation window is displayed.

9. In the Admintool:Customize Installation window, click the Deselect All option.

10. Click on the box beside the AnswerBook cluster or AnswerBook you desire.

11. In the Installation Directory window, enter the directory where you want the AnswerBook installed.

    Leaving this blank will install the software in the /opt directory (default).

    ---

    Note -

    /opt is recommended as the home directory for the Solaris 7 AnswerBooks.

    ---

12. Click OK.

13. In the Admintool: Add Software window, click Add.

    The installation process should take a few minutes.

14. Quit Admintool.
