ProcedureHow to Create a Data Source Component

You create a data source component then install it. See How to Install a Data Source Component.


Note –

If you want to browse and export data sources from a federated node, then select the deployment manager as the browse target. If you want to browse and export Data sources from a unfederated node, select Standalone node as the target for browsing.


Before You Begin

Before you create a data source component, you must first create and install the JDBC provider component. See How to Create a JDBC Provider Component.

Steps
  1. In the Common Tasks section in the browser interface, click WebSphere 5.1.

  2. Click the Data Source: Create link.

    The component's Edit page displays.

  3. Select a Deployment Manager to browse a federated node or a Standalone to browse an unfederated node from the Data Source Browser.

  4. Click the Open Highlighted Item link.

  5. Select a DataSource path

  6. Click the Check In Selected Item button.

  7. (Optional) Change the name of the component.

  8. Click Continue to Check In.

    The Components page displays.

  9. Click the component name.

  10. Click the Run link for the install procedure.
