Chapter 7 Uninstalling Policy Agent 2.2 for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4

This chapter first presents you with a method for disabling a web agent. The task is the same for all web agents on all platforms. Then the chapter leads you through the uninstallation process on the available platforms. This chapter consists of the following sections:

All Systems: Disabling a Web Agent in Policy Agent 2.2

In certain situations, you might want to disable a web agent temporarily. You can disable any web agent by resetting the property that controls the not-enforced URI list in the web agent AMAgent.properties configuration file.

This task requires that you reset the following property:


com.sun.am.policy.agents.config.notenforced_list
  1. Reset the value of this property to the asterisk, “*,” as follows:

    com.sun.am.policy.agents.config.notenforced_list = *
  2. Restart IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4.

Solaris Systems: Agent Uninstallation for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4

You can uninstall a web agent on a Solaris system using a graphical user interface (GUI) or using the command line. However, keep the following in mind:

Unconfiguring Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 on Solaris Systems

To remove an instance of Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 that was configured using the config script, use the script unconfig. The unconfig script is located in the following directory:

PolicyAgent-base/SUNWam/agents/domino/bin

The following is an example run of the unconfig script.


# ./unconfig LotusDominoData-directory
Unconfiguring webserver ...
done.

where LotusDominoData-directory represents the path to the Lotus Domino Data directory. The following is the default location of the Lotus Domino Data directory:

/local/notesdata

Removing the DSAPI Filter on Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 on Solaris Systems

Before you uninstall this web agent, regardless of which uninstallation method you use (GUI or command line), first remove the DSAPI filter. Then remove the agent.

  1. In the Lotus Domino Administrator web console, select the Configuration tab.

  2. In the left pane, under Server, click All Server Documents

    A window appears, presenting a list of servers.

  3. From the listed servers, select the server you want to uninstall.

  4. Click Internet Protocols.

  5. Select the HTTP tab.

  6. Remove the DSAPI filter file name specified for the agent, leaving the DSAPI Filter File Name field blank.

  7. Click the Save and Close button to save the changes.

  8. Open the IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 Quick Console and restart the server by entering the following commands:


    tell http quit
    load http

After you have removed DSAPI Filter, you can uninstall the agent. To uninstall this web agent using the GUI, you must use the uninstallation program as explained in the following task description.

  1. In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:


    # ./uninstall_agent
  2. Click Next on Welcome panel.

  3. Click Uninstall Now on Ready to Uninstall panel.

  4. After the uninstallation process is complete, click Close.

  5. Restart the IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.

Command-Line Uninstallation of Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 on Solaris Systems

After you have removed DSAPI Filter, you can uninstall the agent. To uninstall this web agent using the command line, you must run the uninstallation program as explained in the following task description.

  1. In the Policy Agent base directory (PolicyAgent-base), enter the following command:

    # ./uninstall_agent -nodisplay

    The uninstallation program detects the agent that was previously installed using the setup program and displays the following text:


    Ready to Uninstall
    
    1. Uninstall Now
    2. Start Over
    3. Exit Uninstallation
    
                   
  2. Enter 1 to uninstall the agent.

  3. When prompted, What next? enter 1 to begin uninstallation.

    The uninstallation program displays the following text:

  4. To see log information, enter 1. To exit the uninstallation program, enter 2.

  5. When the uninstallation is complete, restart the IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 instance from which you just uninstalled the agent.

Windows Systems: Agent Uninstallation for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4

You can uninstall a web agent on a Windows system using the graphical user interface (GUI).

GUI Uninstallation of Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 on Windows Systems

To uninstall this web agent, you must first remove the DSAPI filter. Then remove the agent. These two procedures are explained separately in the following task descriptions.

  1. In the Lotus Domino Administrator web console, select the Configuration tab.

  2. In the left pane, under Server, click All Server Documents

    A window appears, presenting a list of servers.

  3. From the listed servers, select the server you want to uninstall.

  4. Click Internet Protocols.

  5. Select the HTTP tab.

  6. Remove the DSAPI filter file name specified for the agent, leaving the DSAPI Filter File Name field blank.

  7. Click the Save and Close button to save the changes.

  8. Open the IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 Quick Console and restart the server by entering the following commands:


    tell http quit
    load http

  1. In the Start menu, choose Settings>Control Panel.

  2. In the Control Panel, double click Add/Remove Programs

  3. In the Add/Remove Programs window, choose Sun Java System Access Manager Policy Agent and click Change/Remove.

  4. In the Welcome Panel, click Next.

  5. In the Ready to Uninstall Panel, click Uninstall Now.

  6. After the uninstallation process is complete, click Exit.

Linux Systems: Agent Uninstallation for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4

You can uninstall a web agent on a Linux system using a graphical user interface (GUI) or using the command line. If you used the config_linux script to install the agent, use the unconfig_linux script to uninstall the agent.

To remove an instance of Agent for IBM Lotus Domino 6.5.4 that was installed in the command line using the config_linux script, use the script unconfig_linux. The unconfig_linux script is located in the following directory:
