Additional Software Bug

The following is an additional software bug that applies to the Solaris 9 4/04 release.

SPARC: Veritas Volume Manager Might Fail on Systems Running Solaris 9 4/04 Software (4642114)

If you try to perform various tasks with Veritas Volume Manager on a system that is running the Solaris 9 4/04 software, the following utilities might produce a core dump:

Workaround: Follow these steps:

  1. Become superuser.

  2. Verify that the /var/ld/ld.config file and /usr/bin/crle utility exist on the system.

  3. Type the following commands in a terminal window:


     # /usr/bin/cp /var/ld/ld.config /var/ld/ld.config.save
 # /usr/bin/crle -E LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib
 # appropriate-vxddladm-command
 # /usr/bin/mv /var/ld/ld.config.save /var/ld/ld.config
