Obtaining and Installing the Evaluation Kit

The Evaluation Kit provides a collection of automated demonstration scripts that help you evaluate the features of DSEE through the command line. In addition to the scripts, the Evaluation Kit contains sample data and the configuration files required to run the evaluation.

You can download the Evaluation Kit from http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/scripts/indexSjs.html. Click the link to the Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.0 Evaluation Kit.

The Evaluation Kit is not supported on Windows.

The Evaluation Kit is delivered in a compressed archive (ZIP) file named dsee6-kit.tar.gz. Once installed, the Evaluation Kit sets up the following files and directories:

• A global configuration file, env.cfgin the main install-base directory. Do not modify this file.

• A directory, install-base/kit/, that contains the evaluation scripts.

• A unique configuration file, dsee6-env.cfg in the install-base/kit/ directory, that contains configurable variables.

• A command-line utility, install-base/tools/zonemgr, which allows you to set up and manage Solaris^TM 10 zones, if you want to use them in this evaluation.
