What Is the HTTP Service?

The HTTP service is the component of the Application Server that provides facilities for deploying web applications and for making deployed web applications accessible by HTTP clients. (See To deploy a web application.) These facilities are provided by means of two kinds of related objects, virtual servers and HTTP listeners.
