DSM (Desktop Storage Module)

A generic name for a desktop external storage unit containing either a disk drive or a tape drive that can be connected to a Sun SPARCstation.

Input/Output. For example, an input/output device.

LED

Light emitting diode.

replacement part

A part of the Desktop Storage Module that can be ordered and replaced by Sun field service representatives or customers with self-maintenance contracts.

SCSI

Small Computer Systems Interface.

tape

An 8mm tape.

wrist strap

A device that provides grounding for static electricity between your body and the chassis of the module. Electric current and voltage do not pass through the wrist strap.
