In most standard configurations, when you install SBE/S SBus cards on the 600MP system board the devices are recognized automatically.
If your systemis running SunOS 4.x and has a non-standard configuration, you need to reconfigure the kernel. You also need to assign host information for the Ethernet port if it is being used. See the SunOS documentation that was shipped with the software media.
Boot the system using the procedure that is appropriate for your operating system:

If you want to run extended selftest automatically after system reset, set the mode switch on the front panel of the CPU to the DIAG position.
Note - Selftest runs after system reset each time, automatically, if the mode switch is in the DIAG position. If you do not want selftest to run each time, set the mode switch on the front panel of the CPU to NORMAL.
