Footnote 5
References to YUV in this book refer to the colorspace defined by the luminance signal (Y) and two
chrominance signals (U and V). U and V represent the color difference signals B-Y and R-Y, respectively. In
the digital domain, as specified in CCIR Rec. 601-2, the U and V color difference signals are also referred to
as Cb and Cr. This is the SunVideo subsystem's native colorspace, and the terms YUV, YCbCr, YCC, YCC601
and Y/B-Y/R-Y are meant to refer to the same colorspace.
