Adding a Network Interface

To Add a Network Interface
  1. Choose Network Connection Administration: Local Area Network.

    The Local Area Network Administration page is displayed with a list of network interface hardware to configure.

  2. Choose Add a TCP/IP Interface.

    An administration page for the TCP/IP interface is displayed.

  3. Type the information in the form using Table 6-1.

    Table 6-1 Information Required to Add an Interface

    Host Address/ 

    Host Name 

    The host address or host name for the network interface.  

    This address should not be on the same network as any other configured interface. Example: 129.144.79.5  

    The host name is valid if it has been entered in the local name service. See Chapter 7, Name Service Administration," for more information.

    Netmask 

    The netmask address that determines the network with which the host address is associated. Example: 255.255.255.0
