After physically attaching the printer to a system, use Solaris Print Manager to install a local printer and make it available for printing.

Add Access to a Printer

Set Up a .printers File

Optional. Using a $HOME/.printers file enables users to establish their own custom printer aliases.

Disable or Enable Printing Banner Pages

Determine whether users can turn off the banner page.

Set Up Printer Fault Notification

Limit User Access to the Printer 

Optional. By default, all users have access to a printer. To limit a few users' access to the printer, you may want to set up a deny list.
