Issues and Limitations

iPlanet Application Server Integration Tool Issues and Limitations

The following issues have been resolved in this release.

ID Summary
None On a local instance, when you start or stop the iPlanet Application Server for the first time, the Web Server associated with it is also started and stopped. You are prompted to identify the name and path of the Web Server. The message reads: "Webserver name should be of the format Path/Webserver Instance Name." The path location of the Web Server is generally in <appserverinstalldirectory\servers\instancename>. This value is stored from the Tools menu, Global Options, iPlanet Application Server Settings, within the Web Server Directory.
Additionally, on Solaris, permission arise as a side-affect of this workaround. See ID 553224 for the Web Server for a resolution.
545357 While editing the JNDI name in the EJB reference for a web module, the changes are now getting saved.
551660 The user is now notified, through a dialog, when the undeployment action is completed or if undeployment action cannot be completed.
551701 While importing an iAB project, the two dialog windows no longer popup and thereby the system deadlock has been eliminated.
553040 An online help page displays for importing a J2EE module from an iAB project.
553429 The deployment descriptor now accepts the correct values for the cache-option element.
554015 While editing the JNDI Name in the Resource Reference of a Container Managed Persistence EJB, the changes are now getting saved.
4481004 You are now able to add a Persistence Manager Factory instance to the iPlanet Application Server without encountering an error.
4482508 Editing a JNDI name now gets propogated to the deployment descriptor.
4492117 An error message is displayed if the user attempts to undeploy an application that contains modules that have been undeployed.

iPlanet Web Server Integration Tool Issues and Limitations

The following issues have been resolved in this release.

ID Summary
553224 On Solaris, if you installed the iPlanet Web Server as root, and installed the Forte for Java IDE as yourself, file permission errors persist. You must change the file permission for the server instance directory recursively. For example, chmod -R <server-instance>
554900 On Windows NT, the web-app URI entry is no longer unexpectedly deleted by the Forte IDE.
554953 On Solaris, the Forte IDE no longer crashes when deploying a file system.
4494329 The titlebar on the Access Log window in now correct.
4494949 While executing a web module to the iPlanet Web Server for the first time, the exception error has been eliminated.
