Chapter 3   Removing the Software


You can use the iPlanet Portal Server: Mobile Access Pack installation script to remove the Mobile Access Pack software and patches from your server. This chapter describes the steps involved.

Backing Up the Installation

Make a back-up copy of your iPlanet Portal Server 3.0, Service Pack 3a installation before you remove the Mobile Access Pack installation. This is required because your user files and custom template files are removed during the uninstall process.

Making a back-up copy allows you to retain and re-use these customized files.

Uninstalling the Software

To remove the Mobile Access Pack, complete the following steps:

1. Change to root using the su root command.

2. In the Mobile Access Pack installation directory, execute the following command:

   ./mapinstall

3. Accept the license agreement when the prompt appears.

4. Select option 2) Remove current installation to start the uninstall process.

After you remove your Mobile Access Pack software, you must also remove your iPlanet Portal Server 3.0, Service Pack 3a software.
