The Sun Internet Mail Server^TM (SIMS) 3.5 client CD offers scalable desktop solutions for sharing enterprise-wide network services. This chapter provides an overview of the client products:

Web AccessTM

MAPI Services (Microsoft Windows® clients only)

Remote Administration Console (Microsoft Windows® clients only)

SIMS 3.5 comes in Enterprise and Departmental editions with options to support a wide variety of e-mail clients and desktop platforms. Whether you install the Enterprise or Departmental edition of SIMS 3.5, you can elect to include server-side options that support Web Access.

No optional server-side components are required to install and configure the MAPI service providers or the remote Administration Console for Windows clients.

Note - You must install and configure a SIMS 3.5 server before attempting to set up Web Access, the MAPI service providers, or the remote Administration Console on client desktops. To set up Web Access on client machines, you must also include options for this component when installing and configuring the SIMS 3.5 server, and have set up the clients' mail on the SIMS 3.5 server.
