Before invoking Web Access on a SIMS 3.5 client desktop, make sure the SIMS 3.5 server package with the Web Access option is installed. The Enterprise and Departmental Editions of SIMS 3.5 come with Web Access as an option. Also, make sure the user's mail has been set up on the SIMS 3.5 server. End users can invoke and run Web Access from any Internet browser capable of displaying HTML 3.2 compliant documents with frames running on any platform, including Windows, Mac, OS/2, and DOS desktops.
Note - Web Access has been tested extensively with Netscape Navigator 3.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, and HotJava 1.1.
Web Access uses Java Web Server (JWS) 1.1 servlet technology from Java Software, and does not require a Java-enabled browser. Web Access does require a browser that supports "cookies"; cookie functionality must be enabled on any browser that uses Web Access.
