Solaris Express Package List

Preface

The Solaris Express Package List lists and describes the packages included in the Solaris^TM Express Operating System (Solaris OS). The list includes information about the software groups that contain each package.

Note –

This Solaris release supports systems that use the SPARC® and x86 families of processor architectures: UltraSPARC®, SPARC64, AMD64, Pentium, and Xeon EM64T. The supported systems appear in the Solaris Hardware Compatibility List at http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl. This document cites any implementation differences between the platform types.

In this document the term “x86” refers to 64-bit and 32-bit systems manufactured using processors compatible with the AMD64 or Intel Xeon/Pentium product families. For supported systems, see the Solaris Hardware Compatibility List.

This book is intended for system administrators responsible for installing the Solaris software.

Solaris Express Installation Guide: Network-Based Installations	Describes how to perform a remote Solaris installation over a local area network or a wide area network.
Solaris Express Installation Guide: Solaris Live Upgrade and Upgrade Planning	Describes how to use Solaris Solaris Live Upgrade to create and upgrade new boot environments.
Solaris Express Installation Guide: Custom JumpStart and Advanced Installations	Describes how to create the files and directories necessary to perform an unattended custom JumpStart^TM installation.
Solaris Express Installation Guide: Solaris Flash Archives (Creation and Installation)	Provides instructions for creating Solaris Flash archives and using Solaris Flash archives to install the Solaris OS on multiple systems.
System Administration Guide: Devices and File Systems	Describes how to back up system files and other system administration tasks.
Solaris Express Release Notes	Describes any bugs, known problems, software that is being discontinued, and patches that are related to the Solaris release.
SPARC: Solaris Sun Hardware Platform Guide on `http://docs.sun.com`	Contains information about supported hardware.
x86: Solaris Hardware Compatibility List	Contains supported hardware information and device configuration details.
