15 Troubleshooting

This chapter covers areas that may cause issues and offers suggestions for handling them.

Changing Coherence Multicast Settings

If you are having problems with Oracle Coherence in the processing of advertising campaigns, either A2P or P2A, you may need to change your Coherence settings. There is a Coherence configuration override file, tangosol-coherence-override-gk.xml, located in the Domain_Home/config/custom directory. For information on the contents of this file and possible edits you might make see the "Operational Override File" section in Coherence 3.5 User Guide at

http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH35UG/Operational+Configuration+Elements#OperationalConfigurationElements-OperationalOverrideFile

Configuring the Coherence Multicast-Listener Element

In environments where Marketing and Advertising cluster server nodes do not reside in the same network segment you must configure the time-to-live element within the multicast-listener element of the override file. Use a time-to-live value consistent with the number of network hops needed for Marketing and Advertising packets to transverse between server cluster nodes including any routers that are in place along the path. This setting will ensure that Marketing and Advertising functions properly in a clustered environment.

For more information see "multicast-listener" in Coherence 3.5 User Guide at:

http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH35UG/multicast-listener

Issues with Multicast Protocol When Establishing a Cluster

If your environment is experiencing issues using the multicast protocol to establish a Marketing and Advertising cluster or if multicast is unavailable in your environment, configure the well-known-addreses element within the multicast-lister element of the override file. Setting the well-known-address list in environments using multiple network segments may also resolve cluster connection issues.

For more information see "well-known-addresses" in Coherence 3.5 User Guide at:
