Displaying the Element Tree

Use the Element Tree to display the hierarchy of the elements in a Documaker document using a compact, tree-like view.

Element Tree

The elements are grouped into various areas, each represented by a different icon. These areas represent the different parts of the Documaker document.

You can use the Element Tree to select, search, edit and remove elements, and perform other tasks. For details, see the the Element Tree Pane.

Please note:

sections and paragraphs with the Replace section... or Replace paragraph... option selected are displayed with the icon

elements within Word text boxes are displayed under a single Text Frame node

To display the Element Tree

From the View Group, select Tree.

The Element Tree opens displaying the names and types of elements in the Documaker document.

Tip

To ensure the Element Tree reflects all your latest changes, at the top of the tree, right-click the Documaker document type (for example, Form), then choose Refresh.
