Perform database maintenance tasks before and after the upgrade.
When performing a database backup do the following:
Ensure no unblinding executions occur at the time of the upgrade.
Ensure that ARGUS and EOSU schemas are a part an Argus cold backup; cold backups are the most consistent backup.
Ensure that Hot backups (REDO logs) also backup Argus-EOSU related transactions.
In case you create a logical backup (export dump), consider backing up the Argus, Interchange, and EOSU schemas (if not using FULL = Y option).
When restoring the database:
Check invalid objects in Argus and EOSU schema. Re-compile the objects if they are INVALID.
Be aware that a database restore from a cold backup restores all necessary schemas. For example, the Argus, Interchange, and EOS schemas are restored. Therefore, all the Oracle Jobs and Omissions will be restored to the status when this backup is created.
When restoring from Hot Backup (apply REDO logs), Oracle automatically restores the Argus-EOSU schema objects.
In the case of a Logical restore (import), restore Argus, ESM, and EOSU schemas. This exercise is time consuming and complicated, so a restore using the Oracle Import is discouraged.
