This graphic shows a typical Oracle SOA Suite 11g topology, including:

• A Web tier instance on Host 1. The graphic shows how the Web tier installation consists of a Web tier Oracle home, containing the OPMN software, as well as an Oracle instance directory, containing the Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle Web Cache software binaries.

• An application tier, containing a Middleware home, which in turn contains the Oracle SOA Suite Oracle home, the Oracle WebLogic Server home, and a user_projects directory, where the domain directories reside.

• A metadata repository tier where the the database that hosts the Oracle SOA Suite schemas resides.

Table 2-6 then describes the overall process and the installation and configuration tools you use to install this topology.
