The box on the left represents an Oracle Application Server 10g farm, which consists of:

• A single Oracle home that contains Oracle Application Server 10g versions of Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Single Sign-On, Oracle Delegated Administration Services, Oracle Internet Directory, and Oracle Directory Integration Platform.

• A database that contains the Oracle Identity Management schemas (ODS and SSO schemas).

• An instance of Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control, which is used to managed the farm.

The box on the right represents an Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g farm, which consists of:

• An Oracle WebLogic Server domain that contains an administration server and a managed server. The administration server hosts the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console and the Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control. The managed server hosts the upgraded Oracle Directory Integration Platform 11g.

• An Oracle home for the new Oracle Internet Directory 11g binary files.

• The Oracle Application Server 10g Oracle home, which contains the exsting Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Single Sign-On, and Oracle Delegated Administration Services 10g instances, which are not upgraded to 11g.

• A database that hosts the upgraded Oracle Internet Directory 11g schema and the existing Oracle Single Sign-On 10g schema.

Not shown in the illustration is the new Oracle Internet Directory 11g Oracle instance directory, which is created when you configure Oracle Internet Directory 11g.
