This section describes how to access third-party license information from an installed system or from the installation media.

How to Access Third-Party Notice and License Information From an Installed System

  1. Log in to an Oracle Solaris 10 system.
  2. In a terminal window, change to the pkg directory.
    # cd /var/sadm/pkg
  3. (Optional) List the packages in the pkg directory.
    # ls
  4. View the notice and license information for a specific package in the pkg directory.
    # cat pkgname/install/copyright

    For example, to display the notice and license information for the SUNWzip package, you would type the following command:

    # cat SUNWzip/install/copyright

How to Access Third-Party Notice and License Information From the Installation Media

  1. Insert the installation DVD into a drive.
  2. Log in to the Oracle Solaris 10 system.
  3. In a terminal window, change to the CD-ROM Product directory.

    # cd /cdrom/solaris-release-name/Solaris_10/Product/

    solaris-release-name defines the Oracle Solaris release, for example, sol_10_508_sparc.

  4. (Optional) List the packages in the Product directory.
    # ls
  5. View the notice and license information for a specific package in the Product directory.
    # cat pkgname/install/copyright

    For example, to display the notice and license information for the SUNWzip package, you would type the following command:

    # cat SUNWzip/install/copyright
