Configure Node Manager Security Credentials

Before you begin

Ensure that you have installed and configured Node Manager and that your domain is configured correctly.

When running a domain in a production environment, you must configure the Node Manager security credentials at the domain level. This is required in order to use the WLST nmConnect() command.

The following procedures show you how to configure Node Manager security credentials.

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, under Domain Structure, select the domain name.
  3. Select Security, then expand the Advanced tab.
  4. Ensure that the following values are set:
    • NodeManager user name
    • NodeManager password
Note: the Node Manager user name and password specified here must match the user name and password used for each instance of Node Manager running in the domain. If you are using a clustered environment spread across multiple physical machines, each Node Manager instance must use the same username/password combination.
  5. You should also ensure that you have performed other required security tasks for switching to production mode. See Change to production mode.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
