Change Disk Discovery Path Page

When an ASM instance initializes, ASM discovers and examines the contents of all of the disks that are in the location designated in the ASM_DISKSTRING initialization parameter. Disks that belong to a disk group - that is, that have a disk group name in the disk header - have the header status, MEMBER. Disks that were discovered but that are not yet assigned to a disk group, have a header status of CANDIDATE. Disks that were previously assigned to a disk group but are free now have a header status of FORMER.

Type the new disk discovery path in the field provided and click OK to save the changes and return to the Add Disks page.

Note: Changing the disk discovery path affects all the disk groups.
