Oracle Flex ASM enables an Oracle ASM instance to run on a separate physical server from the database servers. With this deployment, larger clusters of Oracle ASM instances can support more database clients while reducing the Oracle ASM footprint for the overall system.

| Networks | Select one or more networks for communication among flex ASM instances. |
| Configure Oracle Flex ASM to run cluster-wide | By selecting this option, ASM will be running cluster-wide although Oracle Flex ASM is enabled. This option helps to install prior versions of Oracle database using Oracle Flex ASM. |
Note: Oracle Flex ASM conversion converts a local Oracle ASM (upgraded from Oracle ASM version lower than 12.1 or created using local Oracle ASM option when installing Oracle Grid Infrastructure version 12.1) into Oracle Flex ASM. Conversion requires restart of Oracle Grid Infrastructure node by node.
