Some features of PeopleSoft Integration Broker enable you or require that you upload, import or consume data from files. For example, the system enables you to upload XML data from files to populate messages or consume WSDL from files.

In these and most other situations where you upload, import, or consume data from files, you must set the PS_FILEDIR environment variable on the machine on which the application server resides before you can successfully perform these actions.

Some features require that you also set the PS_SERVDIR environment variables

The procedure for setting the PS_FILEDIR and PS_SERVDIR environment variables is identical.
