Using Demantra Anywhere

This chapter covers the following topics:

Introduction to Oracle Demantra Anywhere

By using Oracle Demantra Anywhere, you can access worksheets remotely and perform many of the same tasks described earlier in this manual.

Note: Oracle Demantra Anywhere does not enable you to work offline. That is, you have access to the data only while you are actually logged on. For information on taking a worksheet offline, see Working Offline.

In contrast to the other Oracle Demantra products, Oracle Demantra Anywhere is a true thin Web client and does not require an applet. You can use it to access Oracle Demantra functionality from remote machines, including handheld devices.

On the other hand, Oracle Demantra Anywhere provides less functionality than the other products. These differences are listed below.

Data Availability in Oracle Demantra Anywhere

Oracle Demantra Anywhere treats data in the same way as other Oracle Demantra products:

Worksheet and Content Features in Oracle Demantra Anywhere

The following table summarizes the features in Oracle Demantra Anywhere that relate to worksheets and content panes.

Running simulations Simulations are available from the Simulation icon on the toolbar.
For each relevant Engine Profile there is an option to run a simulation for the Entire Worksheet or for the Selected Combination.
If there are any unsaved data changes in the worksheet when a simulation is invoked, the worksheet is automatically saved.
If there are any outstanding simulations (those that have not been accepted or rejected) for the worksheet, then the Save Simulation setting for the worksheet is used if one exists. Otherwise, the existing simulations are automatically accepted.
Level Methods The following method types are available: Constructor, Destructor, Edit, View, Custom, Open, Open With, Copy and Paste. The remaining method types (Paste from Clipboard and Add Note) are not supported. The Open/Open With methods are invoked by clicking on a hyperlink on the associated member description. The remaining supported methods are available from the Method icon on the toolbar.
A method is listed if it meets all of the following criteria:
  • It is configured on a Level that is included in the current worksheet.

  • It is one of the supported Method Types (Open, Open With, Copy, Paste, Constructor, Destructor, Edit, View, or Custom).

  • It is either enabled for all worksheets or for the current worksheet.
