Overview of Paswordless Single Sign-On

Oracle Mobile Field Service supports passwordless single sign-on (SSO) authentication using SAML 2.0. It can be configured for both iOS and Android devices running the Oracle Mobile Field Service application.

Note: Passwordless SSO is available only on the iOS and Android platforms.

Setting Up Passwordless Single Sign-On

To configure the passwordless single sign-on (SSO), complete the following tasks:

To register the Oracle Mobile Field Service server with Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS) and obtain the Identity Provider (IdP) initiated SSO URL:

  1. Follow the steps in Oracle Identity Cloud Service Documentation to create a SAML Application.

  2. You should get an Oracle IdP-initiated SSO URL.

  3. Set the profile CSM: Authentication URL of IDCS for SSO (CSM_AUTH_SSO_URL ) with the value obtained in Step 2, and restart the middle tier.

To enable Passwordless SSO on the mobile device:

  1. Launch the Oracle Mobile Field Service application on the mobile device.

  2. On the login screen, tap the Help (?) icon next to Go Offline.

  3. Select Passwordless SSO.

  4. Enter the username and server URL and select Go Offline.

    A browser window opens and displays the SSO sign-in page. After successful SSO authentication, the MFS application launches. Subsequent offline logins support device authentication, such as a device PIN, facial recognition, or fingerprint authentication.
