Process Execution Workbench

The Process Execution Workbench is a navigator that lets you view summary information about batches and firm planned orders by organization, batch, firm planned order, product, and status. There are two tabs located on the navigator - Batches and Firm Planned Orders. Click either tab to access the summary information that you are interested in. The batch and firm planned order summary information windows provide access to batch and firm planned order maintenance windows so that you can review or edit the data. You can also create custom views that provide a convenient method to locate and access a batch or firm planned order.

Creating a Custom View

Use the Find function through the Process Execution Workbench to create either a standard or advanced custom view which is a convenient method to locate and access a batch or firm planned order. Once a view is generated, the criteria or output can be saved in the Personal or Public Shortcuts for future use.

Standard Custom View

A standard custom view allows you to query the database for batches or firm planned orders based on organization, document, product, planned start date, and status. The result of the query lists the batch or firm planned order documents sorted by organization and document number. Double-click a document line in the results list to display the Batches or Firm Planned Order windows. These windows are also accessible by selecting a document line in the results list and clicking Details. If the document is in the context organization, then this option is available. Use the Batch Details and Firm Planned Orders: Details windows to review or edit the data.

The following search criteria are available in the standard custom view. Enter any number or combination of fields:

Once a view is generated, the criteria or output can be saved for future use in the Personal or Public Shortcuts.

Advanced Custom View

The advanced custom view lets you perform a complex query to search for batches or firm planned orders based on the criteria entered.

To create an Advanced Custom View:

  1. Select an item.

  2. Select an operator from the Condition field.

  3. Enter a specific value.

  4. Once a view is generated, the criteria or output can be saved for future use in the Personal or Public Shortcuts.

Viewing Batch Summary Information

Use the Process Execution Workbench which is a navigator to view summary information about batches by batch, organization, product, and status. There are two tabs located on the navigator - Batches and Firm Planned Orders. Click the Batches tab to access summary information about batches. Use the View By option in the Process Execution Workbench to change the way you view the summary information.

The View By Batch options provides a list of batches ordered by planned start date, plant, or batch number. Only batches associated to the organizations that you have access to are listed in the navigator.

The View By Product options provides a list of batches organized by products. The product list is sorted by product code or product planning class. Only products and coproducts for which batches exist are listed in the navigator.

The View By Status option provides a list of batches organized by status code.

The View By Organization option provides a list of batches for an organization. Only organizations for which batches exist are listed in the navigator. Also, only batches associated to the organizations that you have access to are listed.

Batch Summary Window Features

The following features are available on a summary window:

Some of the summary windows provide a Number of Documents field. This is the number of documents on the summary window.

The Find option allows you to quickly locate a particular batch. Enter the Document to search for and click Find.

The Details button provides access to the Batch Details window for the current batch and is enabled only for documents in the context organization. Use the Batch Details window to review or edit the data.

The Batch Steps button provides access to the Batch Steps window for the current batch. Through the Batch Steps window, you can review or edit the data.

Each batch summary is described in this topic. A description of the summary and its associated fields are provided.

Summary of Documents by Organization

The Summary of Documents by Organization window displays all batches grouped by organization. To view this summary, the View By option must indicate Organization and an organization in the navigator must be selected.

The following fields are available in this summary window:

Number of Documents, Document, Status, Terminated Indicator, Product, Revision, Planned Quantity, UOM, Planned Start Date

Details lets you display the Batch Details window for the batch. Use Find to search for a specific batch.

Summary of Documents by Status

The Summary by Status window displays all batches grouped by status. Batches can be viewed by Pending, WIP, Completed, Closed, and Canceled. To view this summary, the View By option must indicate Status and a status in the navigator must be selected.

The following fields are available in this summary window:

Number of Documents, Document, Product, Revision, Planned Quantity, UOM, Planned Start Date

Summary of Documents by Product

The Summary by Product window displays all batches grouped by product. To view this summary, the View By option must indicate Product and a product in the navigator must be selected.

Summary of Document

The Summary of Document window displays all batches grouped by an organization. To view this summary, a batch in the navigator must be selected.

Summary of Batch Steps

The Summary of Batch Steps window displays all the steps for the selected batch. To view this summary, the Steps node for the batch in the navigator must be selected.

Details lets you display the Batch Details window and Batch Steps lets you display the Batch Steps window for the batch.

Summary of Step

The Summary of Step window displays information about each batch step. To view this summary, select Steps in the navigator.

Summary of Products By Step

The Summary of Products By Step window displays the products associated to a particular step. To view this summary, open a batch step in the navigator and select a Product.

Summary of Byproducts By Step

The Summary of Byproducts By Step window displays the byproducts associated to a particular step. To view this summary, open a batch step in the navigator and select a Byproduct.

Details lets you display the Batch Details window.

Summary of Ingredients by Step

The Summary of Ingredients by Step window displays the ingredients associated to a particular step. To view this summary, open a batch step in the navigator and select an Ingredient.

Document, Recipe, Version, Step, Line, Item, Revision, Planned Quantity, Actual Quantity, UOM

Summary of Product

The Summary of Product window displays information for the selected product. To view this summary, select a batch product in the navigator.

Summary of Byproduct

The Summary of Byproduct window displays information for the selected byproduct. To view this summary, select a batch byproduct in the navigator.

Summary of Step Activity

The Summary of Step Activity window displays information for each step activity. To view this summary, select a step activity in the navigator. The following fields are available in this summary window:

Step, Activity, Activity Description, Planned Start Date, Planned Complete Date, Actual Start Date, Actual Complete Date, Offset Interval, Planned Activity Factor, Actual Activity Factor

Details lets you display the Step Activities window.

Summary of Step Activity Resource

The Summary of Step Activity Resource window displays information for the selected resource. To view this summary, select a batch step resource in the navigator.

The following fields are available in this summary window:

Resource, Resource Description, Plan Resource Count, Plan Resource Quantity, Planned Resource Usage, Calculate Charges indicator, Actual Resource Count, Actual Resource Quantity, Actual Resource Usage, Planned Start Date, Planned Complete Date, Actual Start Date, Actual Complete Date, Resource Type, Offset Interval, Scale Type

Details lets you display the Step Resources window. Process Parameters lets you display the Process Parameters window

Note: The Details, Batch Steps, and Process Parameters buttons are enabled only for the documents in the context organization.

Viewing Firm Planned Order Summary Information

Through the Process Execution Workbench which is a navigator lets you view summary information about firm planned orders by organization, product, firm planned order and status. There are two tabs located on the navigator - Batches and Firm Planned Orders. Click the Firm Planned Orders tab to access summary information about firm planned orders. Use the View By option in the Process Execution Workbench to change the way you view the summary information.

The View By Firm Planned Order options provides a list of firm planned orders ordered by planned start date, organization, or firm planned order number. Only firm planned orders associated to the organizations that you have access to are listed in the navigator.

The View By Product options provides a list of firm planned orders organized by products. The product list is sorted by product code or product planning class. Only products and coproducts for which firm planned orders exist are listed in the navigator.

The View By Status option provides a list of firm planned orders organized by status code.

The View By Organization option provides a list of firm planned orders organized by organization. Only organizations for which firm planned orders exist are listed in the navigator. Also, only firm planned orders associated to the plant that you have access to are listed.

Firm Planned Order Summary Window Features

The following features are available on a summary window:

Note: The Details button is enabled only for the documents in the context organization.

Finding a Firm Planned Order from the Workbench

The Find Firm Planned Orders dialog box lets you search for and list all firm planned orders that fit the parameters you specify on the Standard and Advanced regions of the window.

Prerequisites

To find a firm planned order from the workbench

  1. Navigate to the Find Firm Planned Orders dialog box.

  2. Enter as many parameters as needed to complete the search:

    • Enter search parameters in the Standard region for: Organization, Document Product, From Planned Start Date, To Planned Start Date, or Status.

    • Enter search parameters in the Advanced region for a specific: Item, Condition, or Value.

  3. Click Find.

  4. Review the results of the search.

To save search criteria to Personal Shortcuts

  1. Click Save As ...

  2. Select Search Criteria.

  3. Enter a New Folder Name for the search criteria.

  4. Click Save.

To save selected results of the search to Personal Shortcuts

  1. Click Save As ...

  2. Select Only Selected Results.

  3. Enter a New Folder Name for the selected results.

  4. Click Save.

Finding a Batch from the Workbench

The Find Batch dialog box lets you search for and list all batches that fit the parameters you specify on the Standard and Advanced regions of the window.

Prerequisites

To find a batch from the workbench:

  1. Navigate to the Find Batches dialog box.

  2. Enter as many parameters as needed to complete the search:

    • Enter search parameters in the Standard region for:

      • Organization

      • Document

      • Product

      • From Planned Start Date

      • To Planned Start Date

      • Status

      • Terminated

    • Enter search parameters in the Advanced region for a specific:

      • Item

      • Condition

      • Value

  3. Click Find.

  4. Review the results of the search.

To display a selected Document Number

  1. Select the Document Number from the search Results list.

  2. Click Details.

To save search criteria to Personal Shortcuts

  1. Click Save As ...

  2. Select Search Criteria.

  3. Enter a New Folder Name for the search criteria.

  4. Click Save.

To save selected results of the search to Personal Shortcuts

  1. Click Save As ...

  2. Select Only Selected Results.

  3. Enter a New Folder Name for the selected results.

  4. Click Save.

To set date conditions for a search

  1. Select one of the following for Item:

    • Planned Start Date

    • Planned Completion Date

    • Actual Start Date

    • Actual Completion Date

  2. Select one of the following for the date Condition:

    • Equal to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates equal to the value entered.

    • Greater Than to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates greater than the value entered.

    • Less Than to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates less than the value entered.

    • Greater or Equal to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates greater than or equal to the value entered.

    • Less or Equal to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates less than or equal to the value entered.

    • Like to find results similar to the information specified using the wildcard%. For example, select the condition Like, and enter JAN%, you find each target that contains entries with the letters JAN.

    • Greater or Equal to Today + to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates greater than or equal to the current date plus the value entered.

    • Greater or Equal to today - to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates greater than or equal to the current date minus the value entered.

    • Less or Equal to Today + to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates less than or equal to the current date plus the value entered.

    • Less or Equal to Today - to generate results that meet the parameters entered for dates less than or equal to the current date minus the value entered.

    • Today to generate results that meet the parameters entered for the current date. The Value field does not apply to this condition.

    If you save this search to your Personal Shortcuts, then the application uses the current system date when you rerun the saved search.

  3. Enter the Value for the selected condition.

  4. Click Find.
