Prerequisites
If searching in the Lines tab, a quote must be displayed in the Quoting form.
Notes
To enter the search criteria, select View > Query by Example > Enter. The color of the searchable fields changes to blue.
To execute the search, select View > Query by Example > Run.
Check the status bar to see how many matching entries were found.
Note: If searching by quote version, you must also enter a quote number.
Once the search results display, you can view the quotes. The number of results displayed depends on the profile option ASO: Max Number of Results. For more information, see the Oracle Quoting Implementation Guide.
Search results display quotes from all the operating units that the user has access to. For more information on operating units, see Operating Unit Security.
You can also hide infrequently used criteria or rearrange the search criteria fields so that key criteria appear at the top of the criteria section. After making changes, you can save the new search criteria arrangement and use it for subsequent searches.
Note: The Quote Number field cannot be hidden.
Select View > Find or click the flashlight icon on the toolbar.
Enter search criteria in the fields in the Basic tab.
The maximum number of results in the LOVs for the customer and account in the Basic Search form is limited by the profile option ASO: Max Number of Results.
Select View > Find or click the flashlight icon on the toolbar.
Click the Advanced tab and enter your search criteria. The Advanced Search criteria uses operators to search.
You can perform a fuzzy search, widening the scope of a search and presenting data comparable to the search criteria. The fuzzy search method uses Word Replacement Rules to map a word, abbreviation, or special character to a similar word, abbreviation, or special character.
Note: You can only perform a fuzzy search for an Organization if you enter either Customer or Contact First Name and Contact Last Name. You can only perform a fuzzy search for a Person if you enter either First Name and Last Name.
Once the search results display, you can view the quotes. The number of results displayed depends on the profile option ASO: Max Number of Results. For more information, see the Oracle Quoting Implementation Guide.
You can also rearrange the search criteria fields so that key criteria appear at the top of the results section or hide infrequently used criteria. Once you make changes, you can save the new search criteria arrangement and use it for subsequent searches. See Using Folder Functionality for more information.
Notes
Select View > Find or click the flashlight icon on the toolbar.
Select Organization or Person from the Find LOV.
The Customer Search form allows you to designate whether the search is for customers of type Organization or type Person.
To execute a search, you must enter a value in at least one field.
The search results display a Registry ID for each customer. The Registry ID, a unique party identifier in TCA, is also known as the Party Number.
You can search for products using the interMedia search if the profile option ASO: Enable interMedia Search is set to Yes.
Note: Oracle interMedia is known as Oracle Text from Oracle Database 11g.
You can use Oracle Text to search for internal part numbers. For more information on Customer Item Numbers and Item Cross-References, see the Oracle Inventory User's Guide.
interMedia search allows you to search on the Product field in the Lines tab, using any of the following criteria:
Part Number
Description
Long Description
Tip: While searching for products using interMedia Search, enter the partial search criteria in the Product field followed by the '%' wildcard. To view the complete list of search results, click the LOV icon using the mouse or use the keyboard shortcut (Help > Keyboard Help). Do not use the TAB key to open the LOV or click the LOV icon without entering a search criteria in the Product field.
