Contents: Overview | Problems Addressed

Overview

In Release 1.0.0.1, Oracle Health Sciences Cohort Explorer (OHSCE) did not support full integration with Oracle Health Sciences Omics Data Bank (ODB) 1.0.0.1. In order to support tight integration with ODB, two columns have been added to W_EHA_SPECIMEN_PATIENT_H and W_EHA_DIAGTST_SPEC_DHL tables, namely SPECIMEN_NUMBER and SPECIMEN_VENDOR_NUMBER to uniquely identify each specimen by its original barcode and vendor name combination. These entities exist in both OHSCE and ODB.

Furthermore, the loading times of Query Page in OHSCE have been improved by making small changes to the underlying code and without changing the overall user experience.

Problems Addressed

This section describes bugs fixed in this patch. Descriptions include three subsections: Before, After, and Modules Affected. The Before subsection describes how OHSCE behaves before you apply this patch. The After section describes how OHSCE behaves after you apply this patch.

Problems Addressed in this Patch

Bug 13602085

Before

OHSCE did not support tight integration with ODB that would allow the two models to automatically share data through query joins.

After

OHSCE supports tight integration with ODB that allows both automatic insertion of data into ODB with references to OHSCE data model and querying ODB with OHSCE. Two entities have been added to W_EHA_SPECIMEN_PATIENT_H and W_EHA_DIAGTST_SPEC_DHL tables, namely SPECIMEN_NUMBER and SPECIMEN_VENDOR_NUMBER to uniquely identify each specimen by its original barcode and vendor name combination. This fix enables fast and seamless querying across both products.

Modules Affected

Bug 12981272

Before

Although the OHSCE Query Patients page met performance requirements, the performance team recommended an improvement in its loading times without changing functionality.

After

OHSCE Query Patients page loading time has been improved by 10-30% with small improvements behind the scenes pertaining to query generation. This does not change the overall functionality of the page.
