What's New in This Guide

This preface introduces the new and changed installation features of Oracle Fusion Applications that are described in this guide, and provides pointers to additional information.

New and Changed Features for Release 11.1.4

For Release 1 (11.1.4), this guide has been updated in several ways. The following table lists the sections that have been added or changed.

Updated information related to components selected by default when installing Oracle Database Enterprise Edition manually.

Removed support for Oracle Database 11.2.0.2.

Chapter 5 Provisioning a New Applications Environment

Removed this section.

Section 5.6.5 Add Privileges to IDStore and Policy Store Entities

Removed this section.


New and Changed Features for Release 11.1.3

For Release 1 (11.1.3), this guide has been updated in several ways. The following table lists the chapters or sections that were added or changed.

New section.

Section 3.8.6.2, "Setting the Size of Tablespace Datafiles"

Updated to reflect that Applications RCU now creates tablespaces with optimal sizes out of the box.

Chapter 4 Creating a New Response File

The term provisioning plan is no longer used and was replaced by the term response file. Accordingly, the command line option -plan provisioning_plan_location is deprecated.

Section 4.3.2, "Wizard Interview Screens and Instructions"

Added support for Central Inventory Directory.

Section 4.3.3, "WebLogic Server Node Manager Credentials and Installation Locations"

Removed prompt for WebGate Library Location.

Section 4.3.12, "Access and Policy Management Configuration"

Updated Oracle Platform Security Services prompts.

Chapter 5 Provisioning a New Applications Environment

 

Section 5.2, "Using the Command-Line Interface"

The command line argument -plan provisioning_plan_location was replaced by -responseFile response_file_location.

Section 5.4.2, "Installation Process Flow"

Added support for Central Inventory Directory and the command line option -plan provisioning_plan_location was replaced by -responseFile response_file_location.

Section 5.5.3, "Recovery After Failure"

The command line argument -plan provisioning_plan_location was replaced by -responseFile response_file_location.

Section 5.5.3.1, "Automated Cleanup and Recovery"

Added granular restart capability.

Section 5.6.2 Register Node Manager as a Service (Linux x86-64 Only)

This section was removed.

Chapter 6 Deinstalling an Applications Environment
