This Internet cloud at the top of the figure has an arrow that points to a load balancer in the web tier. The load balancer has one arrow that points to WEBHOST1 and another arrow that points to WEBHOST2 in the web tier. Both WEBHOST1 and WEBHOST2 have Oracle HTTP Server installed on them. A firewall separates the web tier and the application tier.

The application tier includes OSBHOST1 and OSBHOST2. There is a Coherence cluster configured between OSBHOST1 and OSBHOST2. There is also a WebLogic cluster configured between OSBHOST1 and OSBHOST2. VIP1 is configured on OSBHOST1. The WLS_OSB1 managed server on OSBHOST1 includes the Runtime, Configuration Framework, Reporting, Statistics Collector, Aggregator, and Alert Manager boxes. The active Administration Server in this configuration is deployed on OSBHOST1, and VIP0 is configured on OSBHOST1.

VIP2 is configured on OSBHOST2. The WLS_OSB2 managed server on OSBHOST2 includes the Runtime, Configuration Framework, Reporting, and Statistics Collector boxes. The passive Administration Server in this configuration is deployed on OSBHOST2.

A firewall separates the application tier and the data tier.

A storage device in the data tier stores TLogs JMS information, and an Oracle RAC database stores OSB data.
