Configuring STA Services : Preparation Task

Optional: Update Linux PATH Setting

You can use this procedure to update the Linux PATH environment variable to include the location of the STA service utilities (staservadm and staresmonadm). By default, the location is the following directory: 

/Oracle/StorageTek_Tape_Analytics/common/bin

Open the profile for your user ID with a text editor. 
# vi /root/.bash_profile

Add the above directory to the PATH definition.

For example:

Save and exit the file.

Log out and log back in to Linux.
5.
Display the setting for the PATH environment variable. The above STA directory should be displayed.

For example:

Proceed to “Backup Configuration Tasks”.
