Modify existing watches in a diagnostic system module

Before you begin

To modify an existing watch:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, expand Diagnostics and select Diagnostic Modules.
  3. On the Summary of Diagnostic Modules page, click the name of the module containing the watch(es) you want to modify.
  4. Select Configuration > Watches and Notifications > Watches.
  5. Click the name of the watch you want to modify.
  6. On the General tab, you can only enable or disable the watch by selecting or deselecting Enable Watch. You can't change the Watch Name or Watch Type. Click Save.
  7. To change the watch rule expression, select the Rule Expressions tab. See Construct watch rule expressions.
  8. To select or change the Alarm Type or change the alarm reset period, select the Alarms tab. Select one of the three alarm types. If Use an automatic reset alarm is selected, you can specify or change the Automatic reset period. Click Save.
  9. To select or change notifications for this watch rule, select the Notifications tab. To enable a notification, move it from the Available list to the Chosen list. To remove a notification from this watch, move it from the Chosen list to the Available list. You can associate one or more notifications with a watch. Click Save.

To create notifications, see Create notifications for watches in a diagnostic system module.

  10. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
