Configure connection retry properties

Before you begin

Create messaging bridge instances

The source and target destinations for a messaging bridge are not always available. A messaging bridge must be able to reconnect to the destination at some periodic interval.

To configure connection retry properties:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the console, expand Services > Messaging and select Bridges.
  3. On the Summary of Messaging Bridges page, select the instance you want to configure.

If the table is empty, refer to Create messaging bridge instances.

  4. On the Configuration > Connection Retry tab, update as necessary:
    1. Minimum Delay -- Amount of time a messaging bridge waits before it tries to reconnect to the source or target destination after a failure.
    2. Incremental Delay -- Amount of time a messaging bridge waits between one failed reconnection attempt and the next retry.
    3. Maximum Delay -- The longest amount of time a messaging bridge waits between one failed reconnection attempt and the next retry.

For more information about the connection retry properties, see Configuration Options.

  5. Click Save.
  6. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
