cmtig003.png shows the architecture of the server. It shows that the Oracle Database Appliance server consists of two server node units, each with a separate system controller with dual startup disks, connected by a bonded internal dual GB Ethernet connection for the private interconnect. Each node has dual host bus adapters, and also has four bonded network interfaces (public, backup, disaster recovery, and management interfaces). The four unit enclosure contains 24 600-GB front-mounted, hot-plug 3.5” dual port SAS GEN-2 disk slots, capable of supporting 12 TB of data. These disks are in self-contained storage with dual-ported disks. Both HDD and SSD are supported.

Oracle Database Appliance contains 2 redundant 2U form factor System Controllers (SC0 & SC1) which leverage major design blocks from the Lynx Motherboard. Each SC connects to 24 disk slots, and external JBOD disk arrays using industry standard MiniSAS 4X connectors and cables.
