The collapsible dimension threshold determines how many refinement
values must exist for a set of query results in order for dimension
value collapsing to occur.
- If the number of refinement values is less than or equal to the threshold,
dimension values that have been configured as potentially
collapsible are collapsed (that is, removed from the hierarchy).
This creates a shallower hierarchy with fewer conceptual levels of
refinement.
- If the number of refinement values is greater than the threshold,
dimension values that have been configured as potentially
collapsible are
not
collapsed. They remain in the hierarchy, creating a deeper
hierarchy with more conceptual levels of refinement.
