Setting up the GL Accounting Segment

A chart of accounts segment is a component of the account combination. Each segment has a value set attached to it to provide formatting and validation of the set of values used with that segment. The combination of segments creates the account combination used for recording and reporting financial transactions.

You must set up your Chart of Accounts (COA) as part of implementing Fusion FAH.

The General Ledger Accounting Segment is the principal use of key flexfields. Setting up the GL Accounting Segment consists of performing the following tasks:

  1. Identifying Accounting Flexfield Segments

  2. Defining Segment Labels

  3. Assigning Unique Segment Labels

  4. Specifying Segment Instances

  5. Performing Column Flattening

  6. Importing GL Accounting Flexfield Changes
