Copy Decision Frames and Paths


After completing this topic, you will be able to copy Decision frames and paths.


Steps:

  3. You will select and copy the primary Decision path and two alternative Decision paths and paste them to another topic.

  4. Select the Decision frame.

     

    Click the D frame.

  5. Select the primary path.

     

    Press the [Ctrl] key and click the F frame after the Decision frame.

  6. The Decision frame and all the frames in the primary decision path to the End frame are selected.

  7. Add an alternative Decision path to the selection.

     

    Press the [Ctrl] key and click the first F frame in the third path.

  8. The alternative Decision path is added to the selection.

  9. Add the last alternative Decision path to the selection.

     

    Press the [Ctrl] key and click first F frame in the last path.

  10. The last alternative Decision path is added to the selection.

  11. You can use the menu or toolbar to copy and paste frames. Use the menu to copy the selected frames.

     

    Click the Edit menu.

  12. Click the Copy Frames command.

  13. Switch to the topic in which you want to paste the copied frames.

     

    Click the Using Print Preview tab.

  14. Select the frame after which you want to paste the copied frames.

     

    Click the second F frame.

    Click the Edit menu.

  16. Click the Paste Frames command.

  17. Because the copy selection includes an End frame, a message box opens telling you that Start and End frames are converted to Explanation frames.

     

    Click the OK button.

  18. Save the topic.

     

    Click the Save button.

  20. View the pasted Decision frame.

     

    Click the D frame to view the new paths.

  21. After pasting Decision paths, you should check the results and remove any extra frames.

  24. In this example, we removed the End frame, which was pasted as an Explanation frame, and the last F frame in the primary path because it was a duplicate of one of the pasted frames.
