Steps:
You can open the Sound Tuning Wizard to adjust playback and recording volume levels from the following places:
1. The Recorder while recording a topic with sound
2. The Sound Recorder while recording web page sound
3. The Sound Recorder while recording frame sound in the Topic Editor
4. The Sound Editor toolpane in the Web Page Editor or Topic Editor
Note: To access the Sound Tuning Wizard in 1, 2, or 3, you may have to pause the recording.
Step 1In this example, you will open the Sound Tuning Wizard from the Sound Editor toolpane in the Web Page Editor before you start adding sound.
Click the Sound tuning wizard button.
Step 2From the first page, you can adjust the playback volume. Use the Play button to hear the current sound level.
Click the Play button.
Step 3As you listen, drag or click in the slider to adjust the playback volume.
Click in the Volume slider.
Step 4Stop the playback when the volume is set at the desired level.
Click the Stop button.
Step 5Go to the next screen in the Wizard to adjust the recording volume.
Click the Next > button.
Step 6You can manually set the recording level or you can let the Sound Tuning Wizard automatically set it for you.
Step 7Start recording some sample text so that you can manually adjust the recording level.
Click the Record button.
Step 8Increase the recording volume.
Click in the Recording volume slider.
Step 9While recording, adjust the recording volume until you are recording in the Optimal range, then stop the recording to save the volume level.
Click the Stop button.
Step 10Play back the recorded sound with the new volume level.
Click the Play button.
Step 11Stop the playback.
Click the Stop button.
Step 12Let the Sound Tuning Wizard automatically adjust the recording level.
Click the Automatic recording level setting option.
Step 13Record a sample.
Click the Record button.
Step 14Stop the recording after recording a sample.
Click the Stop button.
Step 15Click the Play button.
Step 16Stop the playback.
Click the Stop button.
Step 17Once you are satisfied that your recording level falls in the "Optimal" range, continue with the Sound Tuning Wizard.
Click the Next > button.
