Steps:
Apply a date range filter.
Click the Filters list.
Step 1Click the Date range list item.
Step 2View the persistence options.
Click the Persistence list.
Step 3Save the default filter values with the report.
Click the Save list item.
Step 4Include the filter criteria in the report.
Click the Include in report option.
Step 5Enter a starting date.
Click in the From field.
Step 6Use the options in the calendar pop-up to select the starting month.
We have selected August, 2011.
Step 7Select August 1, 2011.
Click 1 on the calendar.
Step 8Add an ending date.
Click in the To field.
Step 9Use the options in the calendar pop-up to select the ending month.
We have selected December, 2011.
Step 10Select December 31, 2011.
Click 31 on the calendar.
Step 11Preview the filtered report.
Click the View this report link.
Step 12Notice the date range at the top of the report. The report data is calculated using the default date range.
Step 13Return to the Custom Report page.
Click the Go to report design link.
Step 14Change the Persistence to Ask, but leave the date defaults intact.
Click the Persistence list.
Step 15Click the Ask list item.
Step 16Preview the report.
Click the View this report link.
Step 17Notice that the Run Report page shows the default date range. You can change the default dates by clicking in the From or To field and selecting another date from the pop-up calendar.
Step 18We have changed the To date. Run the report.
Click the Process Report button.
Step 19The new date range appears at the top of the report and the report data is calculated using the new date range.
