Publish Server vs. Local Content


After completing this topic, you will be able to publish server and local content.


Steps:

  1. Step 1
  2. The Printing section is checked out to you.

  3. Use the right-click context menu to delete the link to the Previewing a Worksheet topic.

     

    Right-click the Previewing a Worksheet topic.

  4. Click the Delete Link command.

  5. The Previewing a Worksheet topic no longer appears in the outline.

  6. Start the Publishing Wizard.

     

    Click the File menu.

  7. Click the Publish command.

  8. Publish to the selected publishing destination.

     

    Click the Next > button.

  9. Publish the entire outline.

     

    Click the Publish entire outline option.

  10. View the advanced options page.

     

    Click the Skip advanced options page option to deselect it.

  11. Click the Next > button.

  12. Publish the server version of the content.

     

    Click the Publish server content option.

  14. When you publish a different content selection to a destination folder that already contains published content, you are asked if you wish to replace the existing content. If you continue, the results depend on the type of format you are publishing.

     

    Note: If you did not want to replace the published content, you would click the Cancel button and publish to another publishing destination.

  15. Publish the content to the same publishing destination and replace the old content.

     

    Click the Continue button.

  16. Click the Player and LMS check box.

  17. Publish the selected options.

     

    Click the Publish button to publish a Player deployment.

  18. Click the Finish button to launch the content.

  19. Notice that the Previewing a Worksheet topic still appears in the outline. The Developer published the server copy of the Printing section, which still links to the topic.
